Wanda Wiłkomirska




A legend of the Polish violin, the most famous representative of the musical family, holder of countless prizes and distinctions, despite her young age, Wanda Wiłkomirska (b. 1929) came to the Wieniawski Competition as laureate of other international competitions. It was already then that she proved a peerless interpreter of Karol Szymanowski's music. Soloist with the National Philharmonic in Warsaw for over quarter of a century, world-famous artist who plays the most renowned venues of our time and performs with most distinguished partners, she has very strong emotional ties with the Wieniawski Competitions.
