Andrea Obiso

Born in 1994 in a family of musicians and considered by the critics an "enfant prodige", he expressed the desire to play both the violin and the piano after observing his musical parents rehearsing at home.

Andrea's musical talent brought him to make his early debut as a soloist at only 13 years of age performing the virtuosic Henry Vieuxtemps Concerto No. 5, experience that have launched his musical journey with full determination.

Prize winner of several prestigious International Competitions as the ARD Munich, the Khachaturian International Violin Competition, the Prix Ravel, he was chosen, in early 2020, as the youngest Concertmaster of the Internationally renowned Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome under the Music Direction of Antonio Pappano. 

Few years later he also served as principal guest Concertmaster in Orchestre Paris at the Philarmonie de Paris until last year.

Among the many stages where he performs, he debuted as soloist at the Berlin Philharmonie with the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, at the Herkulessaal and at Gasteig in Munich with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, in Latin America and in all major concert halls in Asia with several ensembles including the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.

The encounter with Boris Belkin brought him to Siena as one of the youngest students and graduates at the Accademia Chigiana and at the Conservatories in Palermo and later in Maastricht, Holland.

In 2019, he graduated from the prestigious “Curtis Institute Of Music” in Philadelphia under the guidance of his distinguished teachers Aaron Rosand and Midori Goto.

This quadriennal experience in the US forged Andrea artistically as he had the opportunity to be mentored by Jonathan Coopersmith and Noam Sivan in Conducting and Counterpoint in Composition.

He has so far lived a studying and travelling life immersed in immense gratitude, encouraged by his family and the audiences that support his musical path and inspired by the beauty of music and the musicians he encounters.

Andrea Obiso plays a “Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù 1741 ex Desoer-Werwick” violin and alternates a “E. Pajeot” and a “N.R. Maire” bows from the Nippon Violin Society in Tokyo.
