Rok Zaletel Černoš

He began playing violin at age 6 and was admitted to the Academy of Music in Ljubljana at 16 as an exceptionally gifted young violinist, studying under Prof. Vasilij Meljnikov. He is currently completing his master’s degree at the Hanns Eisler Music School in Berlin in the class of Prof. Byol Kang. His competition achievements include 2nd Prize at the International Valsesia Musica Competition (1st Prize not awarded), 1st Prize at the International Young Virtuosi Competition in Zagreb, and a Special Prize at the Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna. 

As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras including the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra under Christine Larsen, the AG UL Symphony Orchestra under Felix Müldenberger, the SMO Youth Orchestra, Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, SNG Maribor, Vivaldi Symphony Orchestra and many more in venues such as the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, and Ljubljana’s Cankarjev dom and Philharmonic. His performance of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto earned him the honorary Prešeren Prize for Academic Achievement.
