Zhixin Zhang

Zhixin Zhang has been playing the violin since the age of 5. When he was 10 years old he entered the China Central Conservatory of Music middle school to study with Mr. Lv Xu. He achieved the first place in the entrance ranking. 

At 13 years old he travelled for the first time to Europe where he visited various academies and studied with many esteemed musicians such as Sebastian Bohren, members of the Stradivari Quartet, Paul Roczek, Qian Zhou, Barbara Doll, Antje Weithaas, Ning Feng. 

In 2017 he was the concertmaster of the Orchestra of the China Central Conservatory of Music Middle School. In the same year he founded a string quartet with whom he played in NCPA (National Centre for the Performing Arts China). Since 2019 he has studied Bachelor Klassik with Prof. Xiaoming Wang at the Kalaidos Musikhochschule in Zürich.

He has taken part in various international competitions and music festivals such as Brahms Competition (2015), Tibor Varga Violin Competition (2019), Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition (2021). He is a Semi-Finalist of Montreal International Violin Competition 2023 in Canada.
