PRELIMINARY SELECTION
We have the pleasure of informing you that over 250 young violin
players representing forty countries have applied to take part in the
preliminary selection of candidates for 15th International Henryk
Wieniawski Violin Competition, which will be held in Poznań, Poland, on
8-23 October 2016. We are very glad that the Wieniawski Competition enjoys such
recognition throughout the world, and that players from so many
countries – incl. such distant ones as Australia, New Zealand, Brazil,
Venezuela, or the USA – would like to take part in it.
Preliminary selection for the 15th edition of Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition were held in the first half of 2016. Maestro Maxim Vengerov personally listened to candidates. Live auditions were held in four different locations on three continents (Europe, Asia, North America).
