Wojciech Łukasz was born on 29 April 1962 in Nowy Targ. In 1978-1982 he studied violin making trade at Antoni Kenar State Higher School of Fine Arts in Zakopane, then he learned with A. Krupa at the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. He acquired a Master's degree in violin-making art in 1987, presenting a baroque viola, chitarrone and thesis entitled "Ornamentation of the European instruments as the basis for attribution." Since 1988 he has been connected with the the Great Theatre and Polish National Opera in Warsaw as an instrument restorer. He builds violins, violas, contemporary and baroque cellos. He has made a contemporary copy of following instruments: renaissance lute, theorbo, chitarrone and guitars. He also renovates instruments and bows.

The first artistic success came in 1983 with 1st place at 1st Collegiate Violin Making Competition in Poznań for a ½  violin. He is a laureate of numerous prizes at competitions, his most important successes are: 6th place at 8th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Making Competition in Poznań (1991); 5th place in the category of the violin at 2nd International Violin Making Competition in Mittenwald (1993); Złota Plakietana from Gio Batta Morassi at 1st National Włodzimierz Kamiński Violin Making Competition in Poznań (1994); 9th place at 9th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Making Competition in Poznań (1996); 6th place in the category of the viola at International V. Metelky Violin Making Festival in Náchod (1997); Golden Medal for the instrument of the highest acoustic qualiities at 3rd International Violin Making Competition in Mittenwald (1997); 1st place in the category of the violin at International Peter Tchaikovsky Violin Making Competition in Moscow (1998); 5th place in the category of viola at International Violin Making Competition in Mittenwald (2005); 3rd place in the category of violin at International Violin Making Competition in Dolný Kubín (Slovakia).

He was a jury member of the following competitions: National W. Kamiński Violin Making Competition in Poznań (1999, 2004, 2009), International H. Wieniawski Violin Making Competition in Poznań (2001, 2011).

From 1983 he is a member of Polish Artist Violin Maker Union (ZPAL), where he served as a member of the Audit Committee. Since 1994 he has been a member of the Admissions Committee of the Union. Currently he is a member of the board.
